What We Do

Rebuilding & renovating homes for those who need it most.

Rebuilding Together Pittsburgh works alongside low- and moderate-income homeowners to preserve and create safe, healthy, affordable homes. Through our owner-occupied repair programs, we provide critical repairs and modifications at no cost so homeowners can remain safely in the homes and neighborhoods they love. Through Rehab for Resale, we rehabilitate vacant and distressed properties and return them to use as affordable homeownership opportunities.

Our work is rooted in partnership. Homeowners and communities bring their knowledge, priorities, and vision, while staff, funders, volunteers, and skilled contractors contribute the resources and expertise to move that vision forward. Together, we preserve existing homes, restore those that have been lost to vacancy, and strengthen Pittsburgh neighborhoods.

Why We Do It

Rooted in equity and inclusion.

We recognize that our work means confronting the social, economic, and health inequities levied on communities of color from decades of discriminatory development, redlining, and displacement.

We have made strides to decelerate the negative consequences of gentrification through the stabilization of affordable homeownership. We have always rooted our housing work in equity and inclusion — and we know we still have work to do.
